A deeper dive into our insurance policies

ree

You Asked: Do I want to insure irrigation equipment separate from my farm blanket? If so, why?

We Answered: Yes! It is wise and cost-effective to insure a high ticket item and higher risk item with a different insurance company. If you have a stand-alone pivot policy loss/losses, this will not increase your farm policy premiums increasing many insured items and in some cases, resulting in cancellation of your farm entire policy.

You Asked: What is the biggest concern with most farm policies?

We Answered: Any payments made for losses are based on depreciation value. The loss of value takes into account the age, wear and tear for the equipment. Farm policies will pay you not based on completed repairs (labor and materials), but rather the current market value (similar to a resell value) of your aging pivot.

You Asked: Because my farm policy is different from pivot insurance, what losses are covered through Montana Valley Irrigation’s pivot insurance?

We Answered: The Replacement Cost Coverage (not depreciation) covers the cost of repairing your system or replaces your damaged unit for a new pivot system for the following losses:

  • Wind

  • Tornado

  • Hail

  • Fire

  • Lightning

  • Flood

  • Collision with Farm Implements

  • Rodent Damage

  • Theft

  • Vandalism

  • Malicious Mischief

  • Mechanical/Electrical Failure

  • Ancillary coverage extends to the: Pump, Panel, Rotophase and even your Riverscreen.

You Asked: What other benefits does Montana Valley Irrigation insurance provide me?

We Answered: Great question! You have trusted irrigation experts as your insurance adjuster! We advocate for you, assess the damages, complete/submit loss insurance documentation to the insurance company for you and complete all repairs eliminating delays. We’re here to ensure everything is thoroughly checked and fixed to get you running again properly and quickly.
