We are excited to spotlight the winners of the 2025 Grow Rodeo Scholarship. This scholarship aims to support the young rodeo athletes of Montana and encourage the cowboy way of life. We were thrilled to receive so many wonderful applications and truly enjoyed hearing from each of these athletes. After careful consideration, these five really stood out!

Spotlight on Our $500 Winners

Kate Obrigewitch

Kate is a 15yo from Wibaux, MT with a passion for rodeo. Here's what she had to say when we asked how she would use the scholarship to build her rodeo skills:

"I’ve been fortunate to have good mentors and people help me with all my rodeo and events but for goat tying in particular, I need to shave off just a few tenths to be able to place in the top four in high school rodeo. The girls who are filling those national spots have been to one or more Next Level goat tying clinics. They truly are on another level with every aspect of the technical parts of the run and with mental game training as well. Next level clinic girls are setting records and winning championships at every level of goat tying. I want to be the next one to do big things like that. I will also help young goat tyers improve. I help kids already, but can get to be an even better teacher with more knowledge."

Trekk Henke

Trekk Henke is an 11yo from Kalispell, MT that hopes to boost his skills in calf roping with further lessons. He says his top three rodeo events are bareback, bull riding, and calf roping, and he also likes to play baseball, hunt, and fish.

What really stood out to us about Trekk was his creativity and sense of humor. His video submission was a clear front runner from the second we watched it - be sure to look back on our Instagram reels to see it for yourself!

Allison Hershberger

Allison Hershberger is a 14yo from Denton, MT who loves breakaway, barrel racing, and goat tying. We appreciated her specific goals and plans, as she said "I would attend a Paige Rasmussen goat clinic or a Tracey Bolich breakaway clinic. Both of these clinics would help make me a better rodeo athlete and enhance my skills. Through this scholarship and these clinics I would also be able to work with my young horse".

Molly Jo Gilbert

Molly Jo Gilbert is an 18yo from Billings who attends school in Shepherd. We were blown away by her resume. When asked what sports and organizations she participates in, she said "I am currently the Montana High School Rodeo Association student president. I have also been a state event director, as well as a district event director in the breakaway roping and barrel racing. I have participated in many extra curricular activities including FFA, BPA, Student Council, and was chosen by our school administration to represent Shepherd in the Leadership in Athletics Advisory Council. I also just wrapped up my high school basketball career, where I was a two time first team all conference selection, as well as an all state selection my junior season, and a team captain this year." Talk about a well rounded individual!

Dally Jo Cyr

Dally Jo was our youngest $500 recipient at just 6 years old! Dally lives in Augusta, MT and enjoys pole bending, barrel racing, goat tail untie, and dummy roping. Dally's video entry made it clear that she has big dreams and the drive to accomplish them, so it was a no-brainer that she has earned our support. We can't wait to watch her grow!
